IT Committee Statement Mission

Background

In recent years, technology and business have become inseparable and the pace of business and technological change has increased. It is now mandatory to be well versed in fundamental issues of business technology. Leveraging technology has become an essential part of doing good business. As a regional organization, the Chamber has a strong interest in business technology issues, especially as they apply to regional economic development. The IT Committee is the primary way by which the Chamber addresses issues of importance to the region's technology sector.

The IT Committee serves the regional business community by focusing specifically on the key issues on the cutting edge of technology and business. As the "technology arm" of the Chamber, we advise the organization's leadership on key issues facing businesses of all sizes.

The Committee sponsors a wide range of educational, community and networking events throughout the year. The aim of each event and activity is always to advance the Chamber's technology agenda for the Greater New Haven Region. We work together with the Connecticut Venture Council, Connecticut Technology Council, educational institutions and others to create an economic environment that attracts, supports and encourages business in the region.

The GNHCC IT Committee is a great place to lend your specific technical expertise and serve the greater business community through the Chamber. Committee meetings and events are a great way for you to expand your network of regional contacts while aiding in the advancement of the Chamber's agenda.
