The focus of this first half hour is understanding the Java 2 Enterprise Edition Platform and how it is used to develop web applications. We describe the API’s that make up J2EE such as Servlets, Enterprise Java Beans and the Java Message Service.
Understanding Servlets 3:15 to 4:00
After the attendees finish the comprehensive overview of the J2EE platform, the seminar shifts to introduce Servlets. How are Servlets created and deployed using Visual Age for Java and Websphere. What are the advantages and disadvantages of writing web applications with Servlets.
BREAK 4:00 to 4:15
Understanding Java Server Pages 4:15 to 5:00
Learn how to create Java Server Pages and deploy them under Websphere. Understand why Java Server Pages do a better job of separating Presentation logic from Business logic. Also learn how Java Server Pages and Servlets can be used together under the Model-View-Controller (MVC) architecture.
