PRESENTATION
Transparent Decisions: Managing the
Project Portfolio
Even if you’ve been doing the technical
part of agile for a while, you might not have realized all the
benefits that agile can provide. That’s because when agile
starts with projects, managers don’t always realize they
need to adopt agile or lean approaches for project portfolio
management.
When you think of project portfolio management, do you think
of dog-and-pony shows? Or, when you explain, “We don’t have enough people to staff
this project” all you hear is “Multitask.” Do you see value-less
pet projects that you would like to eliminate?
Project portfolio management can help, especially
if you use agile and lean approaches to managing the project
portfolio.
In this presentation, Johanna will show you
how an agile and lean approach to the project portfolio can help
both technical staff and management see
what’s
going on, how to apply agile and lean to the project portfolio, and how to collaborate
to make great portfolio decisions.
Topics include:
o How
to provide transparency for what everyone is doing
o How to
apply agile and lean approaches to the project portfolio
o Key principles
of collaboration for applying to the project portfolio
o DISCUSSION on Johanna's
key points and concepts presented
