Brief Course Description: XML development based on the W3C specification. This course will cover XML, DTD’s, XML Schemas, DOM, SAX and XSLT.

Prerequisites: Casual Knowledge of HTML is assumed, working knowledge of Visual Basic or Java helpful.

Course Description Summary: This is a fast paced, in depth course on using the XML based on the W3C specification. This course will start out with the basics of XML by covering core XML, DTD’s and XML Schemas, then the intensity will increase with full immersion sessions on DOM, SAX and XSLT.

When the student leaves the course... the developer/student will be knowledgeable in creating well-formed XML documents. The student will be an expert in validating XML to ensure the data undergoes proper processing. The attending student will know which technology to use to prevent unnecessary and costly processing of data by understanding when to use DOM and SAX. The student will be skilled with the proper techniques for transforming XML documents to HTML, XML or Text to ensure that the data is in the correct format for efficient processing or display. The technology mastered in this course will be completely cross platform and implemental in any system.
